Result of five operations (version 1)

Think of a number. Take a paper and a pen to do the following operations:
  • Calculate the square of the number that you thought;
  • Add four times the number that you thought to the result;
  • Add \(4\) units to the result;
  • Calculate the square root of the number obtained in \(3\);
  • Subtract the number that you thought.

The number that you get after these five operations was \(2\), was not it? Can you explain the trick?
